Writing
A carefully sequenced approach
As with our reading instruction, we teach writing in a carefully sequenced manner to ensure students have a firm understanding of the fundamental components of writing before they move onto more advanced concepts.
This includes providing explicit instruction in grammar, vocabulary, sentence structure and paragraph structure. We also teach handwriting (using Victorian print and cursive), spelling, and the structural conventions for each text type.
Our staff have completed professional development in The Writing Revolution, and these practices are embedded in the lessons we teach.
